IMS Care Center is currently searching for a professional, compassionate and knowledgeable individual to fill the position of Nuclear Medicine Technologist Lead for our growing Cardiology Department. The Nuclear Technologist will be responsible to prepare, administer, and measure radioactive isotopes in therapeutic, diagnostic, and tracer studies utilizing a variety of radioisotope equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Calculate, measure and record radiation dosage or radiopharmaceuticals received, used and disposed of, using computer and following physician's prescription.
- Detect and map radiopharmaceuticals in patients' bodies, using a camera to produce photographic or computer images.
- Explain test procedures and safety precautions to patients and provide them with assistance during test procedures.
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals or radiation to patients to detect or treat diseases, using radioisotope equipment,
under direction of physician - Produce a computer-generated or film image for interpretation by a physician.
- Develop treatment procedures for nuclear medicine treatment programs.
- Ability to work independently and to be accurate, efficient and organized.
- Process cardiac function studies, using computer
- Record and process results of procedures
- Prepare stock radiopharmaceuticals, adhering to safety standards that minimize radiation exposure to workers and
patients - Ability to work efficiently and cope with emergency situations
- Ability to maintain good working relationships while addressing complex sensitive administrative issues.
Requirements
- Requires the ability to manage multiple changing priorities in an effective and organized
fashion - Must have knowledge of and follow HIPAA guidelines and secure Protected Health
Information at all times - Requires exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to interact with
people from different backgrounds and cultures - The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
- Minimum 2 - 5 years’ experience in Cardiology clinic.
Education/Work Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate’s degree in Nuclear Medicine from an accredited college or university.
- Must hold an active AZ license as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, as well as active NMTCB and MRTBE certifications.
- Current BLS
