Electrical Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a well-established engineering consultancy known for delivering innovative K-12, commercial, and municipal building projects across Virginia. This role provides the opportunity to take ownership of design projects from concept through commissioning while collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams. You’ll play a key role in shaping building systems that strengthen schools, workplaces, and communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead complete electrical design phases, including concept development, load calculations, layout drawings, and equipment selection
• Prepare design documentation, specifications, and construction packages
• Coordinate closely with mechanical, structural, and architectural teams
• Ensure designs comply with code requirements, budgets, and project schedules
• Participate in client meetings to understand project scope and objectives
• Provide technical support during construction, including RFIs, submittals, and site inspections
• Support commissioning and quality control processes for final project delivery

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (required)
• 8 years of experience in building electrical design (K-12, commercial, municipal, or government projects)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
• EIT license required (Virginia); PE license preferred
• LEED Accreditation is a plus
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
