About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a well-established engineering consultancy known for delivering innovative K-12, commercial, and municipal building projects across Virginia. This role provides the opportunity to take ownership of design projects from concept through commissioning while collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams. You’ll play a key role in shaping building systems that strengthen schools, workplaces, and communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead complete electrical design phases, including concept development, load calculations, layout drawings, and equipment selection
- Prepare design documentation, specifications, and construction packages
- Coordinate closely with mechanical, structural, and architectural teams
- Ensure designs comply with code requirements, budgets, and project schedules
- Participate in client meetings to understand project scope and objectives
- Provide technical support during construction, including RFIs, submittals, and site inspections
- Support commissioning and quality control processes for final project delivery
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (required)
- 8 years of experience in building electrical design (K-12, commercial, municipal, or government projects)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
- EIT license required (Virginia); PE license preferred
- LEED Accreditation is a plus
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
