Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Home-Based Therapist to join our dynamic mental health and behavioral services team. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify individual needs, strengths, and treatment goals using diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Develop and implement tailored treatment plans incorporating evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), applied behavior analysis (ABA), art therapy, and crisis intervention strategies.
- Provide individual, group, family, and child counseling sessions focused on behavioral health, mental health counseling, and social work principles.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to foster client engagement and facilitate positive behavioral change.
- Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis management protocols and conflict management skills, ensuring safety for clients and staff.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, records, and case notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical terminology standards.
- Collect data on client progress to inform treatment adjustments and ensure accountability in service delivery.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, educators, and community agencies to coordinate home & community care plans that support clients’ ongoing needs.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to working with individuals with disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), PTSD care, special education strategies, and working with children.
Experience
- Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), or other behavioral health conditions in a home or community setting.
- Demonstrated proficiency in behavioral therapy techniques such as applied behavior analysis (ABA) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
- Background in mental health counseling or social work with a focus on crisis intervention and case management.
- Familiarity with medical records management, medical documentation standards, and medical terminology relevant to behavioral health services.
- Experience working with children and families in a therapeutic context is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality and privacy of patient information is essential.
- Ability to manage conflict effectively while maintaining a positive therapeutic environment.
