Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using hand tools, power tools, airless paint sprayers, and brushes.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and project plans to accurately determine scope and specifications.
- Perform related tasks such as plastering, stucco application, masonry work, and fixture installation as needed for comprehensive project completion.
- Maintain safety standards on construction sites by using proper protective equipment and following safety protocols.
- Collaborate with project managers and other trades to ensure timely completion of projects within budget.
- Conduct touch-ups, restoration work, and refinishing to meet quality expectations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in residential and commercial painting projects with a strong portfolio of completed work.
- Knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and basic math skills.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, airless paint spraying equipment, and maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Familiarity with construction site safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
- Skills in related trades such as carpentry (trim carpentry, frame carpentry), plastering, caulking, masonry, welding, or concrete finishing are a plus.
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately for precise application of finishes.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving abilities in renovation or restoration settings.
