Since 2005, Impex Auto Sales has grown into one of the largest independent pre-owned vehicle dealerships in Central North Carolina. We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Inventory Operations Specialist to support our inventory merchandising, vehicle presentation, lot organization, and retail readiness processes. This position combines the responsibilities of inventory photography, vehicle merchandising, and lot operations into one critical role that directly impacts sales success and customer experience.

Position Overview

The Inventory Operations Specialist is responsible for ensuring every vehicle is retail-ready, professionally presented online, accurately documented, and properly maintained on the dealership lot. This individual will photograph and film inventory, stage vehicles for online merchandising, maintain lot organization, and assist with inventory movement and readiness.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, has a passion for automobiles, takes pride in attention to detail, and understands the importance of creating a great first impression both online and on the lot.

Key Responsibilities

Vehicle Photography & Merchandising

• Stage vehicles for optimal photography and video presentation.
• Capture high-quality interior and exterior photos and videos of inventory.
• Highlight vehicle features, condition, and unique selling points.
• Upload and manage vehicle media on dealership websites and online marketplaces.
• Collect and document vehicle information including mileage, options, color, and equipment.
• Maintain photography equipment and ensure consistent content quality.
• Coordinate with management regarding vehicle availability and merchandising priorities.

Inventory & Lot Management

• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional dealership lot.
• Ensure vehicles are properly parked, displayed, and accounted for.
• Move vehicles safely throughout the dealership as needed.
• Perform basic vehicle readiness checks including tire pressure, fluid levels, battery condition, and overall appearance.
• Monitor inventory status and communicate retail-ready vehicles to management.
• Assist with vehicle deliveries, lot organization projects, and inventory audits.

Customer & Team Support

• Assist customers by directing them to the appropriate department.
• Collaborate with sales, service, and management teams to ensure inventory is accurately represented and available for sale.
• Support dealership operations by completing special projects and assignments as needed.

Qualifications

Required

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to operate both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced automotive environment.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Preferred

• Automotive inventory photography experience.
• Previous dealership experience.
• Customer service experience.
• Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
• Experience with online inventory merchandising platforms.
