Bankruptcy Attorney
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable Bankruptcy Attorney to join our client's legal team. The ideal candidate will have experience in bankruptcy law, excellent analytical and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple cases. You will represent clients facing financial distress, helping them file for bankruptcy and restructure their debts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise clients on bankruptcy options (Chapter 7, Chapter 11, Chapter 13, etc.) and provide tailored legal solutions.
- Prepare and file bankruptcy petitions, schedules, and related documentation in compliance with state and federal laws.
- Represent clients in bankruptcy proceedings, court hearings, and creditor negotiations.
- Assess client financial situations to determine eligibility for various types of bankruptcy filings.
- Negotiate with creditors and other parties to develop debt repayment or restructuring plans.
- Keep clients informed of their rights and responsibilities under bankruptcy law.
- Work with trustees, creditors, and court officials throughout the bankruptcy process.
- Stay updated on changes in bankruptcy law and regulations.
- Draft legal briefs, motions, and other court-related documents as necessary.
- Provide post-bankruptcy guidance on credit rehabilitation and rebuilding.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in the applicable state.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing bankruptcy law, with a proven track record of handling bankruptcy cases.
- In-depth knowledge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code, local and federal bankruptcy rules, and debtor/creditor rights.
- Strong negotiation and litigation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload effectively.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to clients dealing with financial hardship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in both individual and business bankruptcy cases.
- Familiarity with debt collection laws and insolvency-related litigation.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
Work Environment: This is a full-time position based in Orlando. The role may require occasional travel to court hearings and meetings with clients.
