What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cigarette Packer (BCDC) position at Imperial Trading?
SUMMARY OF DUTIES: To support the overall mission of the organization through packing cigarettes carefully into boxes, cleaning the area during and at the end of the shift, communicating corrections and issues to the supervisor and assisting other staff in the area with any needed tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Additional duties, which are necessary to carry out the functions of the Cigarette Packer, may be assigned and are incorporated by reference into this job description;

Pack Cigarettes
- Place correctly sized empty boxes in each of the active packing slots.
- Place cartons of cigarettes into the empty boxes in the quantity outlined by the mounted monitors.
- Apply case label to appropriate cases when instructed and ensure all cases are labeled.

Cross Functional Relationship
- All warehouse task descriptions have a cross-functional relationship. Every employee is responsible for the safe operation and housekeeping in the warehouse.

Cleanup
- Keep the end of the conveyor belt clear as the day progresses.
- Sweep the area at the end of the day.
- Remove empty boxes, damaged products and totes then place them in the correct location.
- Return good products to the stockers on duty for restocking and damaged product to the returns area.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Must be in good physical condition with the ability to bend, lift, and carry boxes up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to understand simple math, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to understand good memory patterns by quickly and accurately finding needed cigarettes on the conveyor.
- Ability to understand and demonstrate proper packing procedures.
- Ability to review box picture and check for order accuracy.
- Must have the ability to properly communicate with co-workers, supervisors and drivers of any issues, concerns or problems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands of this job include light physical activity performing possible repetitive light strenuous activities of an administrative, productive and/or technical nature that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to touch, handle or feel, and to reach with hands or arms. The employee must occasionally walk, talk, or hear, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift 10 to 25 pounds. The employee must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job in a warehouse environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly work near moving mechanical parts and in outdoor weather conditions. The employee must occasionally work in wet humid conditions and with the risk of electrical shock. The noise level of the work environment is usually loud.
