Position Summary
The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for developing new industrial business opportunities, maintaining existing customer relationships, and increasing sales revenue within the assigned territory and/or accounts. This role requires regular travel to customer locations, conducting product presentations, preparing quotations, negotiating sales agreements, and serving as a trusted business partner to customers.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a territory sales plan to achieve established sales goals.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
- Conduct in-person sales visits, presentations.
- Prepare quotes, proposals, and sales agreements.
- Maintain accurate records within HubSpot CRM.
- Collaborate with internal departments to meet customer requirements.
- Attend trade shows, conferences, and customer events as assigned.
- Provide sales forecasts and activity reports.
- Resolve customer issues in a professional manner.
- Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Maintains detailed reports on Sales activities including calls, orders, sales, lost business, and any customer or vendor relationship concerns within HubSpot CRM.
- Provides periodic territory sales forecasts.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Associate or bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years of outside sales experience preferred. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365
- Ability to develop and maintain customer relationships.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to effectively plan customer visits and make the most during windshield travel time.
Travel Requirements
Frequent overnight travel required. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
