REQUIREMENTS:
- CPR Certification (Required)
- Licensed Physical Therapy Therapist, Occupational Therapist and Speech Language Pathologist (Required)
- 3-4 years experience in long term care preferred and Rehab Director experience
- Good physical and mental health.
- Must be able to perform any physical requirement of the position which includes lifting dead weight or unassisted weight of 40 pounds.
- Is capable of following oral and written instructions.
- Have training, knowledge and experience which allows for general supervision of responsibilities.
JOB DUTIES:
- Responsible for direction of Rehabilitation Services Staff and Rehab Department.
- Oversee scheduling of patients. Ensures that patients are appropriately evaluated and treated. Reviews Medical Records and patients charts.
- Basic knowledge of physical medicine, anatomy and physiology.
- Provides Assessment, treatment and rehabilitative services to patients who have experienced injury or disability disease. Provides residents with exercises.
- Adheres to standards of physical medicine practice.
- Ability to observe and evaluate treatment effect and recommends change to physician.
- Ability to perform an appropriate assessment on all patients as related to the therapy requested and provides reassessment as per policy.
- Treats patient and their families with respect and dignity.
- Knowledge of infection prevention and control, sterile technique and related impact on rehabilitation services.
- Attend to mandatory in services of the facility and ensure that all Rehab staff are following Facility policy and guidelines.
- Maintain a good working relationship both within the department and with other department.
- Communicate appropriately and clearly to physicians, staff and administrative team
- Performs management duties including, interviewing, hiring, evaluating, termination and departmental staffing and scheduling.
- Responsible for the monitoring the Rehab staff documentation of resident treatment and response.
- Assists with formulation of a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and assesses effectiveness of learning, family is included in teaching as appropriate, staff and Physician is apprised of conclusions
