Bend Technician is responsible for setup and programming bending machines, specifying tooling, and performing equipment maintenance
Job Responsibilities:
- Setup a variety of tube/pipe bending machines, including manual, semi-automatic, and CNC-controlled systems.
- Program bend machines using relevant software and machine-specific programming languages to ensure precision and repeatability.
- Specify, select, and purchase appropriate tooling for different bending applications based on material and job requirements.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM) and minor repairs on bending equipment to ensure optimal operation and minimal downtime.
- Interpret engineering drawings and bend specifications to produce parts to exact tolerances.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize bending processes and improve cycle times and quality.
- Perform any and all other engineering assignments as directed
- Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications (Required)
- At least 18 years of age (required at all locations)
- Minimum 5 years of direct experience with tube and pipe bending.
- Proven ability to operate and program various bend machines (manual and CNC).
- Experience in tooling specification and procurement.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and bend data.
- Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and problem-solving skills.
Job Qualifications (Preferred):
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred (all locations)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from accredited college
Physical Requirements of the Job:
- Frequent walking, standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting and lifting for 8-12 hours per day
- Able to frequently walk, stand, kneel, squat, bend, stoop, push, pull, twist and lift for 8-12 hours per day
- Able to work in non-climate-controlled and noisy environment
- Frequent overhead reaching and reaching with both hands
- Frequent pushing, pulling, lifting or maneuvering loads up to 50 lbs
- Able to wear and tolerate Personal Protective Equipment (apparel and devices)
- Vision acuity, corrected or uncorrected, capable of reading documents, blueprints, gauges, equipment settings, calibration instruments, parts labels and written materials
- Reliable to come to work every day and be on-time
- Flexible work availability, including Overtime during the week and weekends
