Location: South Florida / Florida-based, with travel as needed

Compensation: $135,000–$165,000 base salary, annual performance bonus, and contract growth incentive

Imperial Event Rentals is seeking an experienced Director of Government & Emergency Response Business Development to create and lead our government contracting and disaster response growth strategy.

We are an established Florida event rental and logistics company with extensive tent and temporary structure inventory, furniture, equipment, warehousing, transportation, and large scale field logistics capabilities. We are expanding our ability to support government agencies, emergency management organizations, municipalities, and prime contractors with emergency response camps, temporary housing, field facilities, base camps, shelter operations, and disaster recovery infrastructure.

This is a senior, hands on business development role. The successful candidate will bring demonstrated experience navigating government procurement, building agency and prime contractor relationships, identifying qualified opportunities, and helping win and deliver compliant contracts.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute Imperial’s government contracting and emergency response business development strategy.
  • Build relationships with federal, state, county, and municipal agencies; emergency management organizations; prime contractors; and disaster response partners.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities involving emergency base camps, temporary facilities, shelters, tents and structures, furniture, logistics, site support, and related services.
  • Maintain and expand required vendor registrations, certifications, qualifications, compliance records, and bid documentation, including SAM.gov and applicable state and local vendor portals.
  • Monitor solicitations, RFPs, RFQs, emergency procurements, cooperative purchasing opportunities, and subcontracting opportunities.
  • Lead proposal strategy and coordinate pricing, scope, logistics, insurance, equipment availability, staffing, and operational input with Imperial’s leadership team.
  • Build relationships before emergencies occur, so Imperial is positioned as a qualified and trusted response partner when a disaster or urgent deployment arises.
  • Negotiate teaming agreements and subcontracting relationships with qualified prime contractors when appropriate.
  • Maintain a disciplined pipeline, opportunity tracker, forecast, and regular executive reporting.
  • Support mobilization and client communication during awarded projects, ensuring that the scope, pricing, compliance requirements, and operational commitments are understood before deployment.
  • Protect Imperial’s reputation by following all public-procurement, ethics, and compliance requirements.
Required Experience
  • 7 years of business development, government contracts, emergency management, disaster response, logistics, construction, temporary infrastructure, or related experience.
  • Demonstrated success winning or supporting government, emergency-response, FEMA-related, state emergency-management, municipal, or large prime-contractor opportunities.
  • Strong working knowledge of government procurement, RFP/RFQ processes, vendor registrations, contract compliance, and proposal development.
  • Established relationships within government agencies, emergency-management organizations, prime contractors, or the disaster-response industry.
  • Ability to translate operational capabilities into clear, competitive proposals and scopes of work.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, organization, and follow-through.
  • Ability to travel and support urgent deployments when necessary.
Preferred Experience
  • FEMA, state emergency-management, USACE, municipal emergency-management, or large disaster-response contractor experience.
  • Experience with temporary camps, tent and structure systems, shelter operations, field facilities, equipment rental, transportation, warehousing, or large-scale logistics.
  • Experience with SAM.gov, state procurement portals, cooperative purchasing programs, and subcontractor/teaming relationships.
  • Existing relationships that can be developed ethically and in accordance with procurement rules.
What Success Looks Like

Within the first year, this person will establish a clear government-contracting pipeline, ensure Imperial is properly positioned and registered for relevant opportunities, develop strategic agency and prime-contractor relationships, submit qualified proposals, and create a repeatable path for profitable emergency-response work.

Imperial Event Rentals is an equal-opportunity employer. We are looking for an ambitious, ethical, and experienced leader who wants to help build a new growth platform within an established company.
