What are the responsibilities and job description for the Soldering Technician position at Imperial Electronic Assembly, Inc.?
Local electronic contract manufacturer is looking for an experienced Soldering Technician for our Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Touch Up Department.
The successful candidate will:
- Assemble printed circuit boards by placing component parts in or on the proper location and orientation
- Solder parts onto boards
- Prepare parts for assembly by bending and or cutting components as instructed
- Identify components and use printed circuit board assembly techniques
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum: 1 year assembly and soldering experience in an electronic contract manufacturing, electronic high tech, or related industry
- Preferred: 2 to 3 years as a PCB Soldering Assembler or related experience in an electronic contract manufacturing, electronic high tech, or related industry
- Diploma or GED from an accredited high school or technical school preferred.
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent printed circuit board assembly techniques, including lead and lead-free soldering
- J-STD-001 certification or proof of previous certification required.
- Knowledge of hand, surface mount, through-hole assembly methods for electronic printed circuit boards
- Knowledge of IPC-A-610 Workmanship Standards helpful; IPC-A-610 certification a plus
- Able to read electronic drawings, blue prints, and schematics
- Use of hand-held or machine operated assembly tools and measuring equipment
- Able to speak, read, write and understand English as it relates to performing job requirements
- Able to lift and move containers weighing between 25 lbs and 50 lbs
