Pay Range: $20.00-$22.00/Hour
Job Summary: The QC Inspector performs first piece, in-process, and final inspection of printed circuit boards to ensure products meet customer requirements.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Performs solderability inspection on printed circuit board samples as required.
- Documents non-conformances found during inspection process and routes product to re-work or repair as necessary.
- Follows traveler, customer supplied documentation, or instructions from supervisor for direction.
- Participates in attaining Quality Assurance departmental goals and objectives by performing job requirements at the highest level of accuracy.
- Works in a productive and efficient manner so production schedules of the Company are met.
- Works with other departments to ensure customer product delivery dates are met.
- Performs job duties in compliance with the Company’s Quality System.
- Participates in internal and external quality system audits as needed.
- Makes process improvement recommendations as appropriate.
- Participates in and coordinates committee activities as needed.
- Communicates equipment maintenance needs to the QC Supervisor.
- Maintains an organized and neat work area.
- Other duties as required or assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Diploma or GED from an accredited high school or technical school required. Degree preferred.
- Minimum: Three (3) years’ experience as a PCB Assembler or Pre/Post Wave Solder Assembly OR one (1) year experience as a PCB Inspector in an electronic contract manufacturing, electronic high tech, or related industry.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent ability to identify non-conformances of product compared to customer’s and IPC-A-610 requirements.
- Knowledge of hand, SMT, and through-hole assembly methods for electronic PCB.
- Strong organizational skills along with excellent oral and written communication ability.
- Knowledge of IPC-A-610 Solderability Standards. IPC-A-610 certification a plus.
- Able to read and interpret customer requirements from various customer-supplied documents.
- Able to read complicated electronic schematics and assembly drawings.
- Excellent ability to identify electronic components.
- Able to speak, read, write and understand English as it relates to performing job requirements.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to alternate sitting and standing.
- Regularly required to lift, carry or otherwise transport materials in racks weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Regularly required to lift, carry, push, drag or otherwise transport materials in bins weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Use of handheld and/or machine operated electronic assembly tools and measuring equipment is required.
- Use of magnifying lights and other magnifying aids may be required.
Work Environment:
- Works in a climate-controlled assembly facility.
