Impel is currently seeking a Data Support Engineer to aid in our support efforts to deliver a world-class Automotive AI Operating system to our dealers. Reliable, quality data is critical to the success of our software solutions and The Data Support Engineer will work as part of a team responsible for answering business inquiries about data quality and performance. The Data Support Engineer will also participate in the creation and continuous monitoring of alerts related to data integrity, quality, and presence. This position will be located out of our New York City, NY office on a hybrid schedule.

Job Summary And Responsibilities
Impel is currently seeking a Data Support Engineer to aid in our support efforts to deliver a world-class Automotive AI Operating system to our dealers. Reliable, quality data is critical to the success of our software solutions and The Data Support Engineer will work as part of a team responsible for answering business inquiries about data quality and performance. The Data Support Engineer will also participate in the creation and continuous monitoring of alerts related to data integrity, quality, and presence. This position will be located out of our New York City, NY office on a hybrid schedule.
- Respond to trouble tickets related to data quality and integrity
- Query Snowflake and other database systems to find answers to technical support inquiries.
- Seek out solutions to data abnormalities and defects.
- Report on findings in a timely manner
- Monitor and respond to various alarms and monitoring tools:
- Work with Elastic, MetaPlane, Cloudwatch, and other monitoring tools.
- Participate in data monitoring design and implementation.
- Document queries and other work related artifacts.
- Apply superior analytical, problem identification, and resolution skills.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Maintains confidentiality of work-related issues, records, and company information.

- Bachelor's or advanced degree in computer science or a related field
- At least one prior position or internship as a software engineer
- Proficiency in SQL: Ability to write, debug, and optimize complex queries for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis within a large-scale database environment.
- Familiarity with various database tools: Comfortable using the Snowflake web interface or standard SQL tools to connect, query, and browse existing tables and views.
- Programming experience: Familiarity with Python and JavaScript is a plus.
- Experience with Cloud technologies such as AWS.
- Familiarity with platforms such as Jira/Confluence.
