What are the responsibilities and job description for the FinOps Engineer position at IMPACT Technology Recruiting?
Our client, located in Phoenix, AZ is looking for a FinOps Engineer on a Contract basis
Please Note:
- Must be currently local to Phoenix, AZ market
- Ideally W2 but will consider C2C
- This role is a hybrid, role must be willing to come onsite as needed.
Day to Day duties
- Collaborate with engineering, finance, and business to manage and optimize cloud spending
Experience Required/Preferred:
- Experience with reading billing reports (AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, GCP Billing Console)
- Previous AWS, Azure, and GCP experience (Any of them)
- Previous Cost management and cost optimization experience
- Experience with Right-sizing EC2/VM instances
- Previous experience Identifying unused storage, snapshots, load balancers, Ips
- Experience choosing proper instance families/types
- Experience using spot instances or committed use discounts (Savings Plans, Reserved Instances)
- Familiar with dashboards (Power BI, Tableau, QuickSight, Data Studio)
- Experience with Monthly cost reporting
- Experience with Budgeting or forecasting
Preferred certifications
- FinOps Certified Practitioner (FCP)
- FinOps Certified Professional (FPRO)
