  • Experience  5–10 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Comp  $70,000–$90,000 base | Saturday = time-and-a-half · Sunday = double time
  • Schedule  Rotating 12-hour shifts (days & nights) | 6 consecutive days off every 3-week cycle
  • Location  De Pere, WI area — onsite, no remote

This is a full-time, permanent Shift Manager opportunity with a privately held, vertically integrated packaging manufacturer that has been in operation for over 90 years and currently employs more than 4,200 people across 36 facilities nationwide. This is not a company that stands still — a $100 million facility expansion was completed several years ago, and another expansion was recently announced at this same location. The long-term outlook here is exceptional, and the retention numbers reflect it. People come here and stay.

The schedule requires commitment — rotating 12-hour day and night shifts including alternating weekends — but it is structured, predictable, and includes a built-in block of 6 consecutive days off every three-week cycle. What you will be doing

  • Providing daily leadership of 25–30 hourly employees in a unionized coating production environment
  • Managing production schedules, quality standards, and departmental safety compliance on shift
  • Overseeing in-process quality checks, documentation, and corrective action coordination with the Technical Department
  • Partnering with Maintenance on equipment reliability, work order entry, and preventive maintenance participation
  • Managing employee attendance, job assignments, personnel moves, and training requirements
  • Using ERP systems (QAD) for reporting, inventory management, and operational documentation
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across safety, quality, productivity, and cost
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, and Technical teams on process upgrades and new product development


What we are looking for

  • 5–10 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment — more experience preferred
  • Prior experience managing in a union facility — union contract administration experience strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously on a fast-moving production floor
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Solid, stable work history — long tenure at prior employers is important to this client
  • Full commitment to a rotating 12-hour shift schedule including alternating weekends — this is not flexible
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred — strong candidates without a degree considered based on overall experience

Strong pluses (not required):

  • Paper, web handling, coating, or converting industry experience
  • Engineering or paper science degree background
  • ERP system experience (QAD or similar)
  • Background in pressure-sensitive label, film, or specialty converting operations
