Responsibilities:
- Patient Transportation: Safely transport patients from their location to medical facilities, ensuring their comfort and well-being during the journey.
- Assistance and Monitoring: Assist patients in boarding and disembarking the stretcher van, ensuring proper positioning and securing of the stretcher. Monitor patients' vital signs during transit.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, medical staff, and colleagues to coordinate transportation schedules and address any concerns or special requirements.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including the proper use of medical equipment, securing patients during transit, and maintaining a clean and organized stretcher van.
- Documentation: Complete accurate and detailed documentation of patient information, transport details, and any incidents that occur during transportation.
- Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to medical emergencies or unexpected situations, following established protocols and ensuring the safety of both the patient and the team.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and EMT certification.
- Previous experience in patient transportation or a related healthcare field is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift and maneuver stretchers with patients.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
