Senior Accountant

Job responsibilities:

·        Manage and provide hands-on support and training for daily accounting operations within Billing, AR and AP staff.

·        Responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports in a timely manner.

·        Responsible for setting up annual budgets and monthly variance reports.

·        Prepare all journal entries and drive month end closing deadlines.

·        Analyze monthly sales trend, financial ratios and cash forecasts.

·        Conduct monthly reconciliation for all balance sheet accounts to ensure reporting accuracy.

·        Reconcile multiple bank accounts.

·        Maintain amortization and depreciation schedules.

·        Responsible for recording and verifying inter-company transactions.

·        Provide weekly sales forecast report to management.

·        Weekly review of open orders, returns, cases and AR aging reports.

·        Process emergency check runs and upload and approve bank Safe Pay exceptions.

·        Set up cost centers and GL accounts.

·        Review daily invoicing for accuracy and post invoice batches.

·        File monthly sales taxes and maintain reseller exemption certifications using Avalara software for various states.

·        Review sales tax nexus exposure on a quarterly basis and set up nexus jurisdictions on Avalara.

·        Periodically review and update inventory variances internally and with 3PLs.

·        Participate in annual inventory physical count.

·        Reconcile major retail and e-commerce customer accounts periodically.

·        Process rebate calculations on a monthly basis.

·        Review and post daily PO receipts for both domestic and international vendors.

·        File annual 571-1 Business Property Statement.

·        Reviewing new credit applications to approve terms and limits.

·        Process biweekly payroll as backup.

·        Process sales commission reports as backup.

·        Audit and prepare 1099s.

·        Actively drive improvements for department procedures and policies.

·        Regularly audit processes to enhance internal controls.

·        Collaborate closely with department managers on accounting matters.

·        Provide ad hoc financial reports and KPI analysis to management.

·        Provide ad hoc reports to CPA.

·        Facilitate cross training within the department.

·        Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Skills:

·        B.S Accounting or Finance required

·        Strong understanding and knowledge of GAAP

·        Minimum of 5 years of senior role experience in manufacturing environment

·        Experience with Great Plains preferred

·        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

·        Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including V-Lookup and pivot tables

·        Experience with all financial and compliance reporting

·        Ability to manage multiple projects and meet hard deadlines in a fast-paced environment

·        Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
