Impact Housing is a vertically integrated housing development company with a mission to solve the housing crisis among low- and moderate-income households in Southern California. With a 55,000 SF modular manufacturing facility, an in-house architectural and construction team, and a growing portfolio of market rate and affordable housing projects, Impact Housing is scaling its operations to deliver meaningful, innovative housing solutions.


POSITION SUMMARY

Impact Housing’s architectural vertical (iDnA) is seeking a creative, detail-oriented Jr. Architectural Designer to join our team. This position is ideal for emerging professionals (0–3 years of experience) who are eager to contribute to all phases of design—from concept through construction—while gaining exposure to modular, off-site building systems. Designers at iDnA collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and project teams to deliver both onsite and offsite architectural and construction documentation for multi-family and mixed-use modular projects


QUALIFICATIONS


Experience

  • 0–3 years of professional experience in architecture, including use with Revit or equivalent BIM software for architectural design and implementation of projects.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or a related field (first professional degree or equivalent).

Certifications

  • Interest in pursuing architectural licensure preferred.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Proficiency in Revit or equivalent design software.
  • Design, visualization, and technical competence as evidence by the quality of work on previous projects.
  • Interest in achieving strong competence in building and planning codes, code research, and use of codes.
  • Effective multitasking and time management across project phases.
  • Self-motivated and able to organize and manage own tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills to convey design concepts, design concepts, task status, and milestones in both written and visual formats
  • Collaborative approach to achieving project goals, deadlines, and objectives.

Administrative & Software Proficiency

  • Ability to perform general administrative and coordination tasks related to project documentation and communication.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting, document preparation, and data management.
  • Familiarity with Smartsheet for task tracking, scheduling, and project coordination (preferred but not required).
