Physical Therapist – Golf Performance

IMPACT Health & Performance | Urbandale, Iowa
Full-Time | $75,000–$80,000/year

IMPACT Health & Performance is looking for a full-time Physical Therapist to join our growing golf rehabilitation and performance practice in Urbandale, Iowa.

This is not a traditional high-volume outpatient physical therapy position.

Our practice combines orthopedic physical therapy, golf-specific movement assessment, strength and conditioning, performance testing, and golf swing analysis to help golfers feel better, move better, and play better.

The right candidate will work one-on-one with golfers in both rehabilitation and performance settings while becoming an important part of a small, growing team.

What Makes This Position Different

At IMPACT, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Work one-on-one with clients rather than managing a high-volume caseload
  • Work extensively with golfers ranging from recreational players to competitive junior, collegiate, and high-level adult golfers
  • Combine rehabilitation with strength, performance, and long-term wellness
  • Regularly use technology including a Foresight GCQuad launch monitor, Swing Catalyst dual force plates, video and swing analysis, and performance-testing equipment
  • Collaborate directly with golf performance coaches
  • Develop a specialty within golf rehabilitation and performance
  • Build meaningful long-term relationships with clients
  • Help shape the continued growth of a specialized golf performance practice

Responsibilities

The Golf Performance Physical Therapist will:

  • Perform comprehensive orthopedic and golf performance evaluations
  • Develop individualized rehabilitation and performance programs
  • Provide one-on-one physical therapy treatment
  • Assess mobility, strength, power, motor control, and other physical characteristics that may influence the golf swing
  • Help clients progress from rehabilitation into strength and performance
  • Utilize launch monitor, force plate, swing analysis, and performance-testing data when appropriate
  • Collaborate with our golf performance coaches
  • Educate clients on movement, injury prevention, and long-term performance
  • Build strong relationships with clients, golf professionals, physicians, and other referral partners
  • Contribute to the continued growth and development of IMPACT Health & Performance

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary of $75,000–$80,000, depending on experience and qualifications
  • $500 monthly benefits allowance ($6,000 annually) paid through payroll as taxable compensation and available for the employee to use at their discretion, including toward health insurance or other personal benefit needs
  • Performance-based bonus opportunities
  • Bonus structure developed after approximately six months of employment with input from the Physical Therapist
  • 401(k) with employer match of up to 3.5%
  • 80 hours of paid time off
  • 7 paid holidays
  • Professional liability insurance provided
  • Continuing education reimbursement considered on a case-by-case basis for approved golf-specific, manual therapy, orthopedic, and performance-related education
  • TPI Level 1 Certification may be paid for if the candidate does not already hold the certification

Schedule

This is a full-time Monday through Friday position.

Working hours will generally fall between approximately 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., with flexibility in how the weekly schedule is structured.

Anticipated start date is between September 28 and October 26, 2026.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy degree
  • Licensed or eligible for Physical Therapy licensure in Iowa
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong clinical reasoning
  • Interest in orthopedic rehabilitation, sports performance, and working with active individuals
  • Desire to continue learning and developing professionally
  • Team-oriented mindset

Preferred:

  • TPI certification
  • Personal or professional background in golf
  • Experience with golfers or rotational athletes
  • Sports or orthopedic physical therapy experience
  • Strength and conditioning experience
  • Manual therapy experience
  • Dry needling certification or experience

TPI certification and an extensive golf background are preferred but are not required for the right candidate. More important is a genuine interest in learning the game, understanding the physical demands of the golf swing, and becoming an excellent golf performance physical therapist.
