Role Overview
The Location Manager / Funeral Director is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and operations of our Dillon, MT funeral home. This is a dual role: you are both a funeral director serving families and the on-site manager accountable for the performance, culture, and community presence of the location.
This role reports to a General Manager based at another funeral home in the region. You will have direct support and oversight from your GM while operating with a high degree of autonomy day-to-day. Key Responsibilities:
Funeral Direction & Family Care
- Direct funerals, memorial services, and graveside services with professionalism and compassion.
- Guide families through arrangement, explaining options clearly and with care.
- Coordinate with cemeteries, clergy, florists, and other service providers to ensure seamless experiences.
- Prepare and file required documentation, including death certificates, permits, and disposition authorizations.
- Performing embalming, preparation, and dressing as needed and within licensure.
Location Management
- Oversee daily operations of the funeral home, ensuring the facility, staff, and processes meet IFP standards.
- Manage scheduling, staffing, and vendor relationships to support smooth operations.
- Monitor location performance metrics and work with your General Manager to identify and act on opportunities.
- Maintain compliance with state licensing requirements, OSHA standards, and IFP policies.
- Build and maintain relationships in the Dillon community, representing the funeral home with integrity.
Qualifications
- Active Montana Mortician license or the ability to obtain Montana Mortician Internship.
- Prior experience as a funeral director/embalmer preferred.
- Strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to serving families during difficult times.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently while staying aligned with regional leadership.
- Familiarity with funeral home software, documentation, and regulatory requirements is a plus.
Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
