Youth Services Direct Support Professional

Job Summary
Impact Family Services is seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals who are passionate about supporting youth with special needs. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys making a meaningful difference by helping youth build independence, confidence, and daily living skills in both home and community settings.

The Youth Services Direct Support Professional provides in-home and community-based support to youth with special needs. Services may include respite care, personal supports, and skill-building focused on daily living and independence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain a positive, supportive relationship with assigned youth and their families.
• Actively engage clients in goal-oriented activities that support growth, independence, and skill development.
• Support daily living skills, including hygiene, meal preparation, organization, and age-appropriate independence.
• Implement behavioral strategies and interventions as outlined in the service plan.
• Communicate effectively and respectfully with clients, families, supervisors, and community members using a person-centered approach.
• Collaborate with supervisors to develop and follow individualized service plans and goal-based programming.
• Track and monitor client progress toward established goals and provide updates as needed.
• Plan and participate in structured and recreational activities both in the home and in the community.
• Support community integration by encouraging participation in social, educational, and recreational opportunities.
• Provide safe and reliable transportation for clients when required.
• Maintain awareness of each client’s unique needs, preferences, and support strategies.
• Complete and submit all required documentation (timesheets, progress notes, transportation logs, etc.) within established timeframes.
• Follow all agency policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all client information.
• Attend required supervision sessions, trainings, and staff meetings.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support client care and program needs.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current car insurance.
• Ability to pass caregiver and criminal background checks.
• Experience or knowledge in working with individuals with mental health, developmental, or physical disabilities preferred.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to remain calm, patient, and supportive in a variety of situations.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Pay: From $17.50 per hour
