Since our inception, IMPACT Community Action Partnership’s focus has been to assist families in central Iowa who are unable to meet their basic needs. Low-income households make tough decisions between feeding their families, making their rent, or paying their utilities, causing them to go without things that many of us take for granted. At times like these, families put their trust in IMPACT to help navigate and overcome the challenges they face.
IMPACT is distinct from other non-profits in that customer service is our main focus. We want to ensure that all IMPACT families, partners, and guests understand how important they are to us by having a friendly, positive, and inviting experience any time they drop by one of our food pantry locations. We are currently looking to fill a Temp Food Pantry Specialist position, which will ensure families have access to food and personal services. As a Temp Food Pantry Specialist, you will ensure families receive the highest level of customer service when visiting our centers, document all services provided in IMPACT’s computer systems, and navigate complex systems to solve problems. Part of this role also includes ensuring IMPACT pantries remain clean and organized. Candidates must also be able to lift, stand, and perform physical tasks required to fulfill food pantry duties.
Major roles for this seat in the organization include:
Pantry Intake
Pantry Inventory Monitoring
Product Donation Management
Assists with leading, managing, and accountability of food pantry volunteers
Experience that will ensure you are successful in this position includes having a hard time ever leaving a project unfinished, being the person responsible for packing bags when you go on a trip because you just “get” how to make things fit, and being the person your friends turn to when they need someone to help them solve a problem! Successful candidates will also need to be detail-oriented, a team player, and adaptable to change. Valid Driver’s License, insurance and reliable transportation required as this position may fill in delivering food/personal packages from time to time.
