General Description

Athletic Director Mission and Vision: Eagle School International (ESI) is seeking a candidate for a service- oriented position. The ideal candidate will provide the school with a sound athletic program for our students and families by completing the following criteria listed below. This position shall be recommended by the school principal and appointed by the school committee on an annual basis. The Athletic Director shall work in harmony with the principal and the school board to align the athletic program with the school’s statement of philosophy, educational objectives, and strategic plan.


The Athletic Director will accomplish this and the following goals:

  • Promote physical development and emotional well-being for the participants in school sports.
  • Teach the values of hard work, discipline, persistence, and interdependence.
  • Encourage school spirit through cooperation toward a group goal.
  • To apply the lordship of Christ to a competitive environment.

Spiritual Expectations

Our Athletic Director shall be a mature, sincere Christ follower. We seek confirmation from our Athletic Director that they:

  • Have received Jesus Christ as his/her personal Savior;
  • Believe the Bible is God's Word and standard for faith and daily living;
  • Are in agreement with the school's Statement of Faith.

Minimum Qualifications

  • The Athletic Director shall be a mature, sincere Christ follower who feels called to serve in a ministry.
  • Has a strong grasp of the essence of Christian education, especially sports environments.
  • Desire to work with students in all capacities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must hold a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.

Core Functions

Our Athletic Director shall uphold the mission and vision stated above by:

  • Giving input, coordinating, and giving direction to the athletic programs including practice schedules, gym availability, and developing team rosters. Developing a track meet schedule each spring.
  • Conducting a parent informational meeting prior to the beginning of the school year.
  • Representing ESI at all MAISL league meetings and relay action items as appropriate and in a timely manner.
  • Recommending to the principal the addition or deletion of any sports programs.
  • Recruiting and training coaching volunteers. Ensure coaches facilitate parent meetings prior to each season.
  • Ensuring all coaching volunteers have up to date background checks on file.
  • Developing, in conjunction with the respective coaches and the principal, appropriate selection criteria for all of athletic awards and to arrange for their purchase.
  • Reporting periodically to the ESI principal, or as requested by the principal.
  • Being on the school premises during home games – do any prep work, clean-up, and lock up the building.
  • Developing a parent board to assist you in your work and coordinate fundraisers when needed.
  • Working with other MAISL schools to fill rosters when needed.
  • Maintaining and purchasing uniforms and equipment owned by ESI Athletics.
  • Keeping all athletic medical allergies and concussion forms up to date for all athletes.
  • Ensuring academic eligibility of students at both mid quarter and end of quarter.
  • Plan and coordinate the annual athletic awards night at the end of each school year:
  • Maintain current records for each student and the athletic teams they have participated in.
  • Contact Arrowhead Trophies to place an order two months before the awards night.
  • Make sure FACT/SIS has the awards night announcement.

Supplemental Functions

Our Athletic Director shall uphold the mission and vision stated above by:

  • Work and communicate with people of all age groups and backgrounds.
  • Have proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Google Drive and be willing to learn new software programs.
  • See that projects and any needs of the athletic program are completed in a timely manner.
  • Organize and prioritize details to meet multiple short-term and long-term objectives.
  • Accurately handle detailed work.
  • Keep sensitive personal and student information confidential; handle all confidential information responsibly.
  • Have good verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements

Use of computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties.

Stand, walk, reach, bend, or lift up to 50 lbs.
