This role will focus on guiding a production area to deliver every order on time and right, the first time. This firm manufactures high-performance precision components and they hire staff that thrives on innovation. This role will focus on partnering across disciplines to create real customer value.
A typical scenario - a customer calls with a quality concern and an accelerated delivery need. You rally Purchasing, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Logistics to facilitate an action plan and communicate status with clarity. You host an area meeting to surface root causes and capture improvement ideas. Later, you dive into manufacturing systems data to understand labor and cost drivers, update KPIs, and align the team. You mentor an emerging leader, complete performance feedback, and support a project start-up so new work launches smoothly-all while maintaining a safe, compliant work environment.
Duties -
- Act as the primary point of contact for delivery and quality within the value stream.
- Coordinate cross-functional support to achieve production and operational goals.
- Facilitate area meetings; champion continuous improvement tied to defined Operating System processes.
- Build engagement through consistent communication, mentoring, and support of team ideas.
- Ensure OSHA-compliant safety practices and a healthy workplace.
- Manage KPIs including headcount, labor costs, and on-time delivery.
- Apply manufacturing systems data to drive cost awareness and analysis-driven decisions.
- Deliver timely feedback and formal performance reviews.
- Lead/support project start-up teams within the value stream.
- Understand, follow, and support QMS and EMS requirements.
Supervisory responsibilities -
- Manage, train, direct, and evaluate personnel in your assigned production area while ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws, including OSHA regulations.
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical field preferred.
- 5 years in manufacturing, operations, and/or supply chain management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication skills - verbal and written, able to interpret technical documents and communicate effectively with internal teams and also with Customers.
- Able to deliver presentations to varied audiences.
- Strong math skills, knowledge of statistics, cost calculations, data interpretation, comfortable reading and interpreting production data and graphs.
- Solid problem-solving skills, abole to define issues, collect data, identify defects, and implement practical, metrics-driven solutions / process improvements.
