Our client is seeking a Senior Finance Analyst to support quoting, pricing, forecasting, and profitability analysis. This role will work closely with Finance and commercial teams to evaluate new and existing business, protect margins, and ensure pricing decisions reflect accurate costs and profitability targets. The Commercial Finance Analyst will analyze quote economics, customer and program performance, and cost changes while turning financial and operational data into practical recommendations. This position partners across Sales, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and other functions to improve quoting accuracy and support profitable growth.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate quotes for profitability, margin impact, financial risk, and alignment with business objectives.
- Analyze key cost assumptions, including materials, labor, overhead, scrap, tooling, freight, capital, volume, and program timing.
- Identify margin gaps, cost inconsistencies, and opportunities to improve profitability before pricing is finalized.
- Develop pricing and profitability scenarios to support new business, existing programs, cost changes, and margin-improvement initiatives.
- Provide financial recommendations based on cost structure, target margins, customer considerations, and business objectives.
- Compare quoted assumptions with actual results to improve future costing and quoting accuracy.
- Analyze customer, product, and program profitability and assess the impact of operational and input-cost changes.
- Identify opportunities for margin improvement and cost recovery.
- Support commercial forecasting, quarterly forecasts, and annual budgeting through analysis of quotes, awarded business, pricing assumptions, and expected launches.
- Partner with Finance, Sales, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Tooling, and Customer Service to understand cost drivers and validate assumptions.
- Analyze complex data sets and translate findings into actionable recommendations for finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, commercial finance, FP&A, pricing, quoting, cost analysis, manufacturing finance, or a related area.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling, pivot tables, lookup functions, scenario analysis, and large data sets.
- Strong financial and analytical capabilities with the ability to identify trends, maintain data accuracy, and develop business recommendations.
- Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills, including the ability to explain financial concepts to cross-functional partners.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with quoting, pricing, product costing, margin analysis, or customer profitability.
- Understanding of manufacturing cost structures, including materials, labor, overhead, tooling, and freight.
