Job Title: Oklahoma Mud Logger

Job Summary:
Mud Loggers are pivotal players at Impac Exploration Services, Inc., acting as the primary
geological monitors on drilling sites. Tasked with the critical role of collecting, analyzing, and
interpreting geological data, they guide drilling teams towards informed decisions. Their duties
include scrutinizing drill cuttings, managing gas extraction equipment, and ensuring the fidelity
of chromatography data. As a liaison between the field and geologists in the office, Mud
Loggers maintain a stream of crucial updates to facilitate comprehensive geological evaluations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct continuous real-time surveillance of drilling parameters and geological data.
- Collect, analyze, and describe drill cuttings, as well as perform hydrocarbon extraction
analysis to identify hydrocarbon presence in the cuttings.
- Supervise the operation and maintenance of gas extraction equipment, ensuring precise
chromatography data acquisition.
- Oversee and document the calibration and maintenance of all geological monitoring
equipment, including routine validation of equipment accuracy.
- Manage data acquisition systems, employing advanced software for gas detection and
drilling parameter monitoring.
- Generate comprehensive logs detailing drilling progress, mud characteristics, and
stratigraphic information.
- Alert the drilling team to any significant changes in mud properties or cuttings indicative
of operational hazards or inefficiencies.
- Collaborate with geologists and drilling engineers, providing critical data to aid in
operational planning and decision-making processes.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all geological samples and their corresponding
data.
- Adhere to all safety, environmental, and operational standards set by the company.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or related field is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in mud logging, gas analysis, and related activities within the
oil and gas industry.
- Expertise in the use of geological software, data analysis tools, and chromatography
equipment pertinent to drilling operations.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are mandatory.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.
- Minimum of 1 year verifiable mudlogging experience required
Skills and Competencies:

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
