ImOn Communications has been the LOCAL choice for business telecommunications services in the Siouxland area since 1997. Over the last two years, we have expanded our network to offer fiber-to-the-home Internet services to Siouxland residents. As we grow our network, we are looking for an Field Connection Specialist to join our team.

The Field Connection Specialist focuses on the overall operations of the network, including network performance, installation, service and maintenance/construction. This position will also receive inventory and monitor inventory levels.
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Skills training will be provided for candidates who do not have experience in the following job responsibilities. This is an entry-level position and experience is not required.
Construction / Network Maintenance:
- Turn up fiber and relocation network projects by completing the following tasks
- Ability to operate Optical Time Domain Reflectometer to test fiber use of visual fault light and power meter loss and readings.
- Installation of additional Calix shelves/splitters to support market growth.
Installation:
- Perform installations, troubleshoot and repair ImOn Communications services including the connection of the customer´s equipment for Business, single and multi-family dwellings including, as appropriate, all necessary wiring (interior and exterior) and hardware; install, troubleshoot and repair drops from the Multi-service Terminal to the Optical Network Terminal.
- Perform connects (new connects and reconnects), disconnects (requested and non-pays), upgrades, downgrades, and relocates; install additional outlets, and install or remove ImOn equipment; connect various options available with customer’s equipment per Company Policy.
- Inspect and perform quality assurance on contracted installs.
Service:
- Troubleshoot and repair ImOn Communications services and Customer Premise Equipment (CPE)/in-home customer networks.
- Good work ethic and encouraging the flow of communication in and out of the field
- Respond to and resolve customer complaints, escalate where necessary.
Warehouse:
- Receives inventory and monitor inventory levels. Work directly with the supply chain to replenish.
All other duties as assigned
Requirements
We are looking for people with:
- Entry-Level does not require experience. General knowledge of installation is a plus
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to travel.
- Must accommodate on-call after-hours work as required.
- A valid Driver’s license with a driving record that allows employee to be insured by company’s insurance carrier.
