Job Description:
Manufacturing associates keep systems running in control. They complete the production process, monitor and maintain equipment, and evaluate and analyze what they observe to ensure efficiency and quality. Before manufacturing, manufacturing associates prepare equipment, obtain materials, plan the workflow to ensure effectiveness and excellence in production operations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensures quality and consistency in production processes by assessing, modifying, and/or calibrating equipment).
- Ensures efficiency and productivity by evaluating and modifying production processes and/or equipment.
- Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves issues with equipment, devices, or products.
- Gathers and arranges materials.
- Comply with safety and quality standards throughout manufacturing activities, safety laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Complete and record critical manufacturing parameters and data in a timely and accurate manner using GDP, GMP, and GLP.
- Drafts and maintains production logs, inventories, documentation, and reports including those outlining procedures, batch records, inventory, productivity, changeover, and progress.
- Collect samples, conduct in-process testing, and analyze data when needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain effective quality control processes throughout the product life cycle.
- Assist with R&D, Operations, and Quality initiatives when needed
- Assist in the design and execution of R&D protocols for manufacturing and product development.
- Communicate and collaborate with others in the workplace
- Document and work under CFR-21 compliant conditions
- Contribute to the development and improvement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to manufacturing processes.
- Train new associates in manufacturing procedures
- Responsible for the growth and maintenance of cell culture and manufacturing processes
- May oversee seasonal employees from time to time
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to clearly communicate with other team members
- The capability to follow directions accurately and excellent organizational skills
- Keeping an eye on detail when checking every batch
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Thorough understanding of products and equipment used in manufacturing
- Have good knowledge of raw materials, manufacturing processes, quality control, as well as other techniques to maximize the effective production
- Have hands-on laboratory experience to handle various bench work and equipment
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Preferred Skills/Abilities:
- Document and work using GDP, GMP, and GLP standards.
- Experience in filing, aseptic processing, and basic lab instruments (Microscope, Centrifuge, Pumps, CO2 Incubator, Scales, etc.)
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in biology, molecular biology, or a related field, plus relevant work experience or training is required
- 2 Years’ experience with a Biotechnology Company is a plus
- Experience in cell culturing is preferred
