Role Description
This is a full-time role for an Associate Attorney. The Associate Attorney providing direct legal services to clients including managing assigned caseload from intake through filing various matters with the court and government entities. This is an on-site role located in Fairfax, VA. The expected start date for this position is April 2026.
General Accountabilities
- Ensuring effective communication between clients and the Firm demonstrating professionalism in each instance
- Maintaining assigned client files with accurate records including fees and costs of matters assigned
- Maintaining office organization through the adherence to an effective filing system
- Investigating facts and laws of cases and searching public records and other resources to prepare cases and determine causes of action.
- Represent clients before USCIS, EOIR, and other immigration agencies in a variety of immigration matters, including: Family-based petitions (I-130, Adjustment of Status, Consular Processing, Naturalization), Humanitarian relief (VAWA, U Visa, T Visa, Asylum), and Removal defense (bond hearings, representation in Immigration Court)
- Represent clients before Federal Courts or VA state courts as necessary
- Conduct client intake, perform legal research, prepare filings, and provide consultations and referrals as needed.
Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (STRONGLY PREFERRED)
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Active bar admission in any bar in the United States (VA, MD, DC preferred)
- Experience in Immigration Law preferred
- Proficiency in Clerical Skills
- Excellent Communication and Customer Service skills
- Ability to work on-site in Fairfax, VA as well as attend in-person interviews/hearings in VA, DC, or MD
- Friendly and professional demeanor
Compensation
$50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year, commensurate with experience, plus 20% of earned fees from retainers generated
