Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Community Organizer based in Jackson, MS. The Community Organizer will work to engage and connect with immigrant communities, build meaningful relationships, and mobilize grassroots support for initiatives aligning with IAJE’s mission. Responsibilities include planning and executing community events, implementing outreach strategies, organizing community-led campaigns, and facilitating leadership development programs.
Qualifications
- Experience in Community Engagement, Community Outreach, and Community Organizing
- Bilingual in English & Spanish
- Strong Communication skills, including verbal and written communication, to build relationships and foster trust
- Proficiency in Event Planning and coordination, including managing logistics and ensuring successful execution
- Ability to cultivate relationships with diverse communities and networks
- Familiarity with social justice, advocacy, and immigrant rights issues
- Experience working in community-based organizations, non-profits, or advocacy groups
- Fluency in Spanish or another commonly spoken language among immigrant communities in Mississippi is strongly preferred
- A commitment to the mission and vision of IAJE, with a passion for social and economic justice
