Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise across various specialties, including acute care, geriatrics, pediatrics, behavioral health, and emergency medicine. This role involves providing comprehensive patient assessments, managing acute and chronic conditions, performing procedures such as suturing. The Nurse Practitioner will deliver patient-centered care in our Urgent Care. Experience with Urgent Care or Emergency Room is required.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments across a broad spectrum of medical conditions.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as Allscripts, for accurate documentation and coding (ICD-9/10, CPT).
- Coordinate diagnostic evaluations with laboratory experience and medical imaging; interpret results to inform treatment plans.
- Collaborate with Providers
- Follow infection control protocols including aseptic techniques; ensure compliance with HIPAA standards for patient privacy.
- Engage in discharge planning, utilization review/management.
Experience
- Proven clinical experience in Urgent Care or Emergency medicine.
- Experience with diverse specialties such as gastroenterology (including gastric lavage), nephrology (dialysis), cardiology (cardiac catheterization), ophthalmology (specifically ophthalmic procedures), pediatric care including toddler.
- Familiarity with medical coding systems (ICD-9/10) and CPT coding for billing purposes.
- Experience working with electronic health records systems such as Allscripts
- Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation law or utilization review processes is advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively within outpatient settings.
