Position Title: HR & Benefits Coordinator

Position Type: Full Time

Position Location: Red Bank 4/5 days/wk, Hybrid 1/5 days/wk remote. Travel to Morristown and other locations as needed

Position Summary: The HR & Benefits Coordinator is responsible for providing comprehensive support across all functional areas of Human Resources, with a primary focus on HRIS administration, employee benefits coordination and payroll management. This role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and a process-oriented approach to daily operations. The coordinator will play a key role in maintaining accurate employee data, ensuring timely and compliant benefits and payroll transactions, and supporting initiatives that enhance the employee experience. Strong ethical judgment, financial stewardship, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion are essential. Additionally, this position serves as a resource to employees and managers, helping to promote consistency, provide support to team members in need and support continuous improvement in HR processes.


Responsibilities:

  • Administer and coordinate employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, FSA/HSA, COBRA 
  • Serve as primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries and resolve issues with vendors and carriers 
  • Maintain benefit records, ensure data accuracy, and support compliance with federal and state regulations (ACA, HIPAA, ERISA, etc.) 
  • Conduct benefits orientations for new hires 
  • Monitor all PTO, Holiday, and Sick banks 
  • Oversee annual Open Enrollment Initiative 
  • Process employee expense reports and ensure timely reimbursements in compliance with company policies 
  • Process payroll and reconciliation(s)  
  • Track benefits-related expenses and prepare reports for budgeting and financial planning 
  • Collaborate with the finance team on relevant audits, projects and reporting as directed by the Director of Finance 
  • Monthly Benefits Reconciliation Report: Compares payroll deductions with vendor invoices to identify discrepancies 
  • Payroll Register and Summary Reports: Verifies wages, deductions, and taxes to support payroll accuracy and audit readiness 
  • Employee Benefits Utilization Report: Tracks participation rates, claims usage, and cost trends across benefit plans 
  • 401(k)/Retirement Plan Contribution Report: Ensures timely and accurate remittance and supports fiduciary compliance 
  • Headcount and Labor Cost Report: Analyzes workforce composition and total compensation expenses by department 
  • FTE (Full-Time Equivalent) and Eligibility Tracking: Monitors employee status changes affecting benefits eligibility or ACA compliance 
  • Accrual Tracking Report: Summarizes vacation/PTO accruals and related financial liability 
  • Monthly Expense vs. Budget Variance Report: Identifies variances in benefits and labor-related costs against forecasted budgets 
  • Annual Benefits Cost Analysis: Supports strategic planning for plan design and renewal decisions 
  • Support HR Manager as directed
  • Performs all other duties as assigned 

Compensation: 


• Medical through Cigna (multiple tiers depending on coverage and cost desires) 

• Vision and Dental through Principal, NJ Delta Dental & VSP 

• PTO & NJ Sick Time

• 401k through Voya, company match availability after 1 year of service and 1000 hours worked 

• Life Insurance provided by the company 50k 

• Accident, Cancer, Hospital, and Disability insurance are available through Aflac 

• Additional voluntary benefits like short term disability insurance, cancer insurance, hospital insurance, critical illness insurance, supplemental life, etc. are also offered through Aflac 

• Critical Illness, Supplemental Life, and Accident insurance are available through Principal 

• Hourly range listed below 

Requirements

  • Passion for delivering the best team member experience to employees
  • Experience processing payroll, preferably in Paylocity
  • Experience in benefit administration, open enrollments, and preferably plan design and negotiations
  • Associates or Bachelors in HR or related field with some HR experience, or 4 years of HR experience
  • Detail-oriented
  • Process-driven
  • Willing to be a part of a team going through a cultural transformation

Salary : $62 - $78
