Position Overview:

The Welder configures and operates welding equipment to meet high-quality standards and production specifications. The responsibilities include thorough material inspection to identify potential defects impacting the welding process, creating precise welds, and proficient execution of MIG and TIG welding in line with company standards. Welders empathize quality control through precision measurement devices, adhering to safety protocols, troubleshooting welding issues, and actively contributing to continuous improvement initiatives are integral aspects of the position, aimed at achieving excellence in welding and overall production efficiency. We currently have positions on day shift, (6a-4:30p Mon-Th) or night shift (7:45p-6:15a Mon-Thurs $2/hr Shift Premium)

Responsibilities:

· Set up the welding station, equipment, and supplies, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to production specifications.

· Perform MIG and TIG welding to company quality standards and to company production standards.

· Material Inspection: Examine raw materials for defects or imperfections that could impact the welding process. Ensure that materials are of the required quality before initiating production.

· Fixture Maintenance: Maintain and inspect welding fixtures for wear, damage, and proper alignment. Replace or adjust fixtures as needed to maintain the quality and accuracy of welds.

· Quality Control: Use precision measurement devices such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to monitor the production process to verify that products meet the required dimensions and tolerances. Make necessary adjustments to machine settings if deviations are detected.

· Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while welding and on the production floor. Maintain a clean and organized work area to minimize safety hazards.

· Problem Solving: Troubleshoot any issues that arise during the welding process, such as machine malfunctions or irregularities in the welding process. Collaborate with supervisors and maintenance personnel to resolve problems promptly.

· Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production output, scrap, and any issues encountered during the welding process. Provide feedback to supervisors and engineering teams for process improvement.

· Continuous Improvement: Participate in discussions and initiatives aimed at improving production processes, fixture designs, and operational efficiency.

· Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent. Technical or vocational training in metal fabrication, welding, or a related field is preferred.

· Proven experience as a welder and knowledgeable of various welding techniques including TIG and MIG.

· MIG and TIG welding certificates.

· Strong understanding of engineering drawings, blueprints, and geometric tolerances.

· Ability to perform accurate measurements using various tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

· Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.

· Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

· Prioritization skills to manage multiple tasks and meet production deadlines.

· Adherence to safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
