Manufacturing Engineer

Position Overview:

At the core of production support, the Manufacturing Engineer is pivotal in the inception of new components and products. Their involvement extends to aiding in CNC program creation, offering technical advice, and scrutinizing defective parts, all aimed at enhancing production efficiency and productivity. Through teamwork with diverse departments and a dedication to continuous improvement, they foster the smooth assimilation of inventive strategies into the manufacturing realm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review incoming customer prints and models to generate accurate cost quotes within the ERP software while evaluating production feasibility.
• Verify incoming customer data and generate new blueprints, models, and files for production using CAD software, applying risk mitigation, and implement solutions for manufacturability.
• Program CNC laser and press brakes and develop fabrication techniques, drawing on fundamental principles of engineering and manufacturing and bending programs and fabrication techniques, drawing on fundamental principles of engineering and manufacturing.
• Develop and maintain documentation of work instruction and processing notes as needed.
• Provides technical guidance and liaison to production operations, assists with new techniques, and may assist in the determination of root causes of rejected parts and their disposition.
• Continually evaluate and contribute to process and department needs focused on continuous improvements in fixturing and gauges, software, controls, and mechanisms to obtain better workflow, processing, quality, and cost reductions.
• Maximize competitive advantage through lean practices by driving continuous improvement activities such 5S, housekeeping, cost reduction, process improvements, and corrective actions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, quality, and production to ensure products meet specifications and customer requirements.

Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to CNC machining, metal fabrication, and assembly processes.

Stay current with industry trends, advancements in manufacturing technology, and best practices.

Qualifications:

- 0-2 years of experience in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering preferably within the CNC and Metal Fabrication industry. Knowledge of CNC machining, welding, or sheet metal bending or cutting process a plus.

- Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field is preferred.

- Experience in SolidWorks.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts.

- High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate documentation.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to a positive, supportive atmosphere.

Physical lifting and movement: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time and to move intermittently throughout the day.

On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
