Position Summary:     The Performance Scientist will play a pivotal role on the campus of IMG Academy. You will be delivering performance science best practices across multiple sports teams by helping optimize athlete performance. Working closely with coaches, directors, and staff, to apply scientific principles to enhance athletic performance and support athlete development. This position offers a dynamic environment where you will collaborate with coaches and multidisciplinary teams to deliver cutting-edge solutions. Position Responsibilities: Performance Science Delivery & Implementation: Under the direction of the Head of Performance Science & Innovation, lead and deliver performance science services for IMG Academy sport programs. Coach & Athlete Education: Equip sport directors, coaches, and athletes with knowledge on athlete monitoring, periodization, data‑informed programming, and drill design (age and maturation appropriate). Testing & Monitoring Execution: Conduct athlete testing and ongoing monitoring that directly informs sport coaching and strength‑and‑conditioning programming. Insightful AMS Reporting: Build actionable insights in IMG Academy’s Athlete Management System through automated reports, dashboards, and real‑time alerts. Benchmark & Standards Development: Support the creation of athlete‑development standards and performance benchmarks that drive continuous program improvement. Research‑Driven Innovation: Stay current with world‑leading research and best practices, introducing relevant innovations to elevate academy programs. All‑Sport Operational Support: Assist the Performance Science & Innovation and Athletic & Personal Development Department with daily operations across all sports as needed. Heavy‑Lifting Capability: Ability to lift, move, push, and pull equipment or boxes weighing 40 pounds or more. Outdoor‑Condition Endurance: Ability to work in varied weather conditions for extended periods. Campus‑Wide Mobility: Ability to navigate large facilities—including gyms, turf fields, and athletic courts—throughout the day. Flexible‑Schedule Readiness: Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as program needs dictate.   Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Education: Bachelor’s and or Master’s degree or higher in sport/performance science or a related discipline (e.g., biomechanics, skill acquisition, performance analysis, strength & conditioning, physiology). Experience: Minimum of 2 years of applied performance science experience in an athletic or sports training environment. Performance Science Knowledge: Broad knowledge of various performance science disciplines (e.g., growth & maturation, skill acquisition, biomechanics, physiology, etc.) and experience using various technologies (e.g., GPS/LPS tracking, heart rate monitoring, force plate analysis, motion capture, dynamometry, velocity-based training, etc.). Must have an understanding of their impact on the training and performance of adolescent/maturing athletes. Communication: Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills. Presentation: Strong presentation skills with the ability to convey information in a clear, concise manner to diverse stakeholders (student athletes, parents, coaches, and management). Independent Work: Ability to work independently to plan, organize, and collect on-field/on-court data using various data-capture systems. Organization: High level of organization and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Team Collaboration: Ability and desire to work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple disciplines. Athlete Management Systems: Experience with Teamworks AMS (athlete management system), formerly Smartabase Youth Athlete Experience: Experience working with developing youth or adolescent athletes in a performance or coaching capacity. Data Management: Experience working with large data sets that integrate inputs from multiple systems. Data Analysis: Intermediate or higher proficiency in R or Python, with the ability to organize, analyze, and clearly communicate data relevant to athlete development and performance. Proficiency: Strong, practical background in either skill acquisition orbiomechanics, demonstrating a high level of working knowledge in one of these two areas (both paths are valued equally for this role). Research Application: Ability to conduct sport science research and apply research findings to improve training practices. #LI-TR1
