The Position
Operator - Mine Support
Job Summary
Key tasks and Responsibilities:
- Lead by example in all safety and environmental processes, ensuring complete safe practices.
- Operate Mine equipment to assigned locations as assigned by the mine supervisor in a safe and productive manner.
- Must be able to read, write, and possess basic math and science skills to complete daily reporting requirements.
- Must possess the ability to work unsupervised and wherever needed to assure the success of Imerys Mining.
- Operators may be required to perform routine maintenance (i.e. fueling and lube).
- Operators may occasionally be required to assist the mechanic with repairs.
- Capable of learning all operations manual, safety rules, and company procedures for all equipment listed above.
- Demonstrate a complete walk-around inspection and verbally communicate mechanical problems in detail to mine maintenance.
- Follow all MSHA regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
Job Requirements:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2-5 years’ experience in the safe, productive operations of scrapers, bulldozers, or similar equipment.
- Mechanical experience/training is a plus.
- Current possession of Driver’s License w/CDL Tanker endorsement.
