We're looking for a Continuous Improvement Specialist to join our team at Imerys Refractory Minerals in Andersonville, Georgia.
This is a high-visibility individual contributor role where you’ll be the go-to expert for Operational Excellence on site. You’ll work hands-on with both senior leadership and the shopfloor to identify opportunities, lead improvement projects, coach teams, and deliver measurable results in safety, quality, efficiency, and cost savings.

About the Role
As our Continuous Improvement Specialist, you will lead and execute strategic Operational Excellence initiatives throughout the Andersonville site. You’ll serve as the internal driver and expert for continuous improvement, combining strong shopfloor presence with effective communication and influence at all levels.
You will report to the Site Manager with a dotted line to the BA I-cubed Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and select the best approaches to maximize the impact of Operational Excellence initiatives
- Plan and execute projects: build cross-functional teams, define deliverables, and secure necessary resources
- Coach, mentor, and train employees on Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and quality methodologies
- Provide timely updates, data-driven analysis, and recommendations to leadership to drive adoption of OE principles
- Continuously measure the impact of initiatives and implement recovery plans when needed to ensure maximum results
- Support additional projects and tasks as assigned
What We’re Looking For
Required Skills & Attributes:
- Strong commitment to Safety as the top priority
- Solid proficiency in Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma methodologies
- Excellent interpersonal skills — ability to influence without formal authority at all levels
- Good understanding of Industrial Engineering and Quality Engineering concepts
- Ability to understand P&L and financial data and translate improvements into monetary savings
- Strong project management, facilitation, statistical & data analysis, presentation, and training skills
- Proficiency with Google tools (Green Belt certification is a plus)
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Sciences preferred at least 2 years of relevant experience, OR
- Minimum 5 years of significant Quality Engineering experience
- At least 5 years of experience in process-driven roles within Manufacturing, Industrial Services, or Supply Chain
- Proven experience supporting large-scale enterprise improvement initiatives
- Previous experience in the mineral or cement industry is a strong plus
- Occasional travel for training or to other sites may be required
