What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mentor a High School Student position at iMentor?
iMentor Chicago matches predominantly first-generation, Chicago public high school students with adult mentors who help them navigate the journey to and through college and along other post-secondary career pathways. This upcoming fall, we will serve students at five CPS high schools and are looking for mentors from a variety of career backgrounds and diverse social identities to mentor high school juniors. To support the success of the relationship, each pair is assigned a dedicated program manager and has access to mentor workshops and resources.

Using iMentor’s dedicated curriculum and staff support, mentors and students work together, in-person and online, to develop strong personal relationships, nurture a college aspiration, navigate the college application process, and build critical skills that lead to college success.
Mentors communicate weekly with their student using our online platform and attend one in-person group event each month. Through these activities, mentors will develop a supportive mentoring relationship that will last for 2 years and guide a mentee through iMentor’s college-readiness curriculum and the college application process.
