Description

The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and selling IMDEX products, services, and solutions within the assigned territory. This role focuses on developing new business opportunities, maintaining strong client relationships, delivering technical support, and identifying customer needs to provide value-driven solutions. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, technically inclined, and experienced in consultative sales within mining, drilling, or industrial environments. This individual will work closely with customers to understand operational challenges, recommend appropriate solutions, and support long-term account growth.

Key Responsibilities

Consultative Selling

  • Execute client engagement plans to promote products, services, and new solution offerings
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships within the assigned territory
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Conduct sales calls, presentations, and meetings to identify customer needs and opportunities
  • Recommend solutions based on customer operations, business objectives, and technical requirements
  • Present products and services aligned with company strategy and commercial objectives
  • Customize product offerings and customer training solutions to meet operational requirements

Technical Service Delivery

  • Provide technical product support and guidance to customers
  • Maintain strong knowledge of IMDEX products, services, and technologies
  • Assist customers in maximizing the effectiveness and application of IMDEX solutions
  • Record service interactions and customer activities within company systems such as ServiceNow and CRM platforms
  • Collaborate with product and technical teams to communicate customer feedback and improvement opportunities
  • Participate in ongoing technical and professional development programs, including IMDEX Academy training

Account Management

  • Develop and manage customer relationships to support account growth and retention
  • Identify opportunities to expand revenue within existing accounts
  • Monitor market activity, customer needs, and competitor activity within the territory
  • Maintain accurate customer information, follow-up actions, and sales activity within CRM systems
  • Represent the organization at trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities
  • Ensure accounts are managed effectively in alignment with company objectives and timelines

Business Development & Prospecting

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned market
  • Research prospective customers and market trends to support pipeline growth
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and forecast opportunities within CRM systems
  • Analyze market conditions and customer requirements to identify value-driven solutions
  • Provide updates on market trends, pipeline activity, and customer insights to leadership

Value Selling

  • Apply value-based selling techniques to understand customer pain points and operational goals
  • Present solutions that align with customer objectives and deliver measurable value
  • Promote cross-selling opportunities across products and services
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customers receive a positive and seamless experience
  • Share successful sales strategies and customer insights with the broader team

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all company QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) policies and procedures
  • Report hazards, incidents, and unsafe conditions in accordance with company requirements
  • Participate in safety meetings and promote safe work practices
  • Comply with company risk management, compliance, and Code of Conduct requirements

Requirements

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Completion of secondary education required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a sales role, preferably within the mining, drilling, or industrial sectors
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills
  • Ability to identify customer needs and recommend practical technical solutions
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple customer accounts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using CRM systems and sales tracking tools
  • Knowledge of mining, drilling, and related operational processes
  • Understanding of drilling optimization, rock knowledge, data analytics, and related technologies
  • Familiarity with IMDEX technologies and solutions, including Gyros, Fluids, and associated applications
  • Technical aptitude and experience supporting customers in operational environments
