What are the responsibilities and job description for the Emergency Medical Technician position at IMCS?
Job Title: EMT - (per diem)
Location: Redding, CA
Duration: 7 months with possible extension
Schedule: 07:00 PM - 07:30 AM
Pay: $35/hr - $37/hr on W2
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency medical transport calls during night shift hours
- Provide Basic Life Support (BLS) care to patients during transport
- Assess patient conditions and provide appropriate pre-hospital emergency care
- Safely operate emergency medical transport vehicles in accordance with traffic laws and safety protocols
- Maintain accurate patient care documentation and transport records
- Communicate effectively with hospital staff, dispatchers, and receiving facilities
- Ensure ambulance equipment and supplies are properly maintained and restocked
- Perform vehicle safety checks and maintain cleanliness of transport units
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure seamless patient care transitions
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards
Required Skills & Experience:
- Certification: Current California EMT certification
- BLS Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of EMT experience required
- License: Valid California Driver's License with clean driving record
- DCI/BVP required
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move patients, equipment up to 150 lbs. with assistance
