Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday - Friday | 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Some overtime on Saturdays (4-6 hours) may be required based on business needs.
Job Summary
One of our clients is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineering Technician to support both the Maintenance and Engineering teams in a manufacturing environment. This role serves as a key liaison between Maintenance and Engineering, providing technical expertise in troubleshooting, automation, CNC equipment, PLC programming, and continuous process improvement. The ideal candidate will have hands-on maintenance experience along with strong programming and controls knowledge to support production equipment and manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to Maintenance and Engineering teams for equipment troubleshooting and repairs.
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues involving manufacturing equipment, automation systems, and production machinery.
- Program, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain PLC-controlled equipment, robotics, CNC machines, and related automation systems.
- Modify and edit CNC machine programs as needed to support production requirements.
- Assist engineers with equipment installation, testing, commissioning, and process improvements.
- Support the implementation of new manufacturing equipment, including programming and startup activities.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation such as work instructions, setup sheets, routings, and standard operating procedures.
- Evaluate proposed manufacturing changes and provide technical recommendations regarding feasibility and production impact.
- Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Materials, Purchasing, and other cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing processes.
- Manage multiple assignments while meeting project timelines and production goals.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on increasing equipment reliability and manufacturing efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree, technical diploma, military technical training, or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of Maintenance Engineering or Industrial Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with CNC machines, including the ability to edit and modify machine programs.
- Experience supporting industrial automation, robotics, controls, and manufacturing equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read blueprints, electrical diagrams, technical drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across Engineering and Maintenance teams.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with industrial robots and automation systems.
- Familiarity with Allen Bradley, Fanuc, ABB, Yaskawa, Keyence, Murata, Hurco, or similar industrial equipment.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and industrial networking concepts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
