Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Warehouse Supervisor with a strong background in air freight handling to manage the flow of shipments in and out of our warehouse. In this role, you will ensure the efficient, accurate, and timely processing of all incoming and outgoing shipments while maintaining a safe and organized warehouse environment. You will supervise a team of warehouse associates, manage Delivery Orders and Bills of Landings, and uphold compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements for all freight.
Key Responsibilities:
Inbound and Outbound Shipment Oversight:
- Supervise and coordinate the receipt and dispatch of all shipments, ensuring timely and accurate processing of air freight.
- Monitor and document incoming and outgoing shipments, taking note of any damages or discrepancies with the freight.
- Collaborate closely with carriers to ensure smooth flow of shipments in and out of the warehouse.
Warehouse Operations Management:
- Manage daily warehouse operations, including storage, inventory management, and organization of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Lead and train a team of warehouse associates, instilling best practices for shipment handling and safety protocols.
- Maintain an organized and efficient warehouse layout to streamline the flow of goods.
Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce OSHA and other safety regulations for air freight handling and warehouse operations.
- Ensure all warehouse equipment is maintained in safe and optimal working conditions.
Inventory Control and Quality Assurance:
- Oversee inventory accuracy, ensuring all freight and general warehouse inventory is accounted for and properly stored.
- Perform regular inventory audits and cycle counts to maintain precise records.
- Monitor quality control standards for both inbound and outbound shipments, addressing any discrepancies or damages promptly.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse operations, focusing on efficiency, accuracy, and safety.
- Work closely with the Warehouse Manager to implement strategic improvements and optimize shipping workflows.
- Track and report on key performance metrics such as shipping accuracy, turnaround times, and safety incidents.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years in a warehouse supervisory role, with specific experience in air freight handling.
- Comprehensive understanding of air freight logistics, customs clearance, and relevant regulatory requirements.
Skills:
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
- Strong communication and coordination abilities to work effectively with internal teams and external logistics partners.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software.
Compliance Requirement:
- Successful completion of a federal background check (STA#) is required to work in our custom bonded warehouse.
Language Requirement:
- Proficiency in both English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking team members.
Certifications (preferred):
- OSHA or other safety certifications.
- Forklift certification.
- Certification in air freight handling or logistics management is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and operate warehouse equipment.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a warehouse environment.
Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
