What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Manager position at IMC Construction?
Implement a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with New Jersey office and company objectives.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking, and targeted outreach.
Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective clients, architects, engineers, and other key stakeholders.
Lead the preparation and delivery of proposals, presentations, and pitches to win new projects.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project transitions from business development to execution.
Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to inform strategic decision-making.
Track and report on key performance metrics, including pipeline development, conversion rates, and revenue targets.
Actively network with industry professionals and participate in related committees and organizations.
Manage the client presentation process closely with marketing, pre-construction, and operations teams.
Maintain accurate contact information and detailed client relationship interaction through CRM.
Track sales activities and pipeline performance in CRM systems.
Regional and occasional outside region travel required (NJ, PA, DE, MD).
Organize, attend, and contribute to meetings with internal teams, as well as clients, developers, and A/Es to ensure alignment and responsiveness.
Minimum 10 years of experience in Business Development/Project Development for a General Contractor specializing in Commercial & Institutional construction.
Experience working with various construction projects and contract types, including Lump Sum, Design Build, and Construction Management.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency in CRM (Customer Relationship Management) applications and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to multitask and work independently.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the capability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Effective listening skills to build and maintain rapport with internal and external clients.
Clear and concise communication of thoughts, ideas, recommendations, and technical information.
Ability to collaborate effectively with internal team members, including Marketing, Estimating, and Production.
