CNC Router Operator - Woodworking (2nd shift)

Please note: This is a WOODWORKING position. Our CNC routers cut wood and wood-based sheet goods (plywood, MDF, particleboard, melamine) to build architectural millwork: store fixtures, cabinetry, casework, and furniture. This is not a metal machining or CNC milling job, and metal mill or lathe experience alone is not a match for this role.

Shift: Monday - Thursday 4:30pm - 2:30am

Given our growth, we are looking for a skilled 2nd shift CNC Router Operator to run the CNC woodworking equipment in our millwork shop. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (include but are not limited to)

• Set up, program, and operate CNC routers and other woodworking machines, including edge banders and panel saws, to cut and machine wood and wood-based sheet goods (plywood, MDF, particleboard, melamine, and hardwoods).
• Load sheet goods, change router bits and tooling, and run part programs for cabinet, casework, and fixture components.
• Examine finished parts for smooth edges, chip-out, shape, angle, depth-of-cut, and conformity to specifications, and verify dimensions visually and with a tape measure and hand tools.
• Start machines, adjust controls, and make trial cuts to ensure that machinery is operating properly.
• Monitor operation of machines and make adjustments to correct problems and ensure conformance to specifications.
• Examine raw materials (sheet goods, lumber, laminates) for defects, warping, and conformity to size and other specification standards.
• Keep machines, dust collection, and the work area clean and in good working order.
• Other tasks as assigned by Supervisor

REQUIREMENTS of this position include but are not limited to

• 2 years of experience operating CNC routers or other CNC woodworking equipment in a millwork, cabinet, casework, or store fixture shop (woodworking experience required; metal machining does not substitute)
• Working knowledge of wood materials, including plywood, MDF, particleboard, melamine, laminates, and hardwoods
• The ability to read and interpret shop drawings and cabinetry specifications/diagrams
• Basic math skills (addition/subtraction) and the ability to use a tape measure
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to take and apply direction
• A positive and hardworking approach/attitude
• Ability to work 2nd shift on a consistent basis
• CNC Router Experience in a Woodworking/Millwork Shop (wood, not metal): 2 years
