The 1st Shift Stamping Press Operator plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by operating and maintaining stamping press machinery to produce high-quality metal components. This position requires precision and attention to detail to ensure that each part meets strict specifications and quality standards. The operator will be responsible for setting up the press, monitoring its operation, and making necessary adjustments to optimize performance and minimize downtime. Safety is paramount, and the operator must adhere to all safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment. Ultimately, this role contributes directly to the efficiency and success of the production line by delivering consistent, defect-free stamped parts on the first shift.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience operating stamping press machinery or similar industrial equipment.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and ability to read blueprints or technical drawings.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in press operation or industrial machinery maintenance.
  • Experience with computerized or automated stamping press systems.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement processes.
  • Ability to perform minor mechanical repairs and adjustments independently.
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate stamping press machinery according to production specifications and blueprints.
  • Inspect finished parts for quality and dimensional accuracy using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on stamping presses to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Monitor press operations continuously to detect and correct any issues or defects promptly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all safety guidelines and company policies.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production targets and deadlines.
  • Document production data, machine settings, and any incidents or maintenance activities accurately.
