Medical Interpreter (Freelance/Per Diem)

Location: Fredericksburg, VA and surrounding areas

Imani Interpreting Services is seeking reliable, professional medical interpreters to provide in-person interpretation services at Mary Washington Healthcare clinics throughout the Fredericksburg area.

This is a flexible, assignment-based position that allows you to accept or decline interpretation assignments based on your availability.

Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate, professional interpretation between patients and healthcare providers.
• Travel to various Mary Washington Healthcare clinic locations as assigned.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
• Arrive on time and prepared for scheduled appointments.
• Follow Mary Washington Healthcare policies and interpreter standards.

Job Details:

• Flexible schedule – choose the assignments you accept.
• Independent work environment with no office location or fixed job site.
• All assignments take place at Mary Washington Healthcare clinics.
• Reliable transportation is required, as travel between clinic locations is part of the job.
• Mileage is not reimbursed.

Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Fluency in English and one of the following languages:
• Spanish
• Urdu
• Dari
• Pashto
• Professional communication skills and dependability.
• Ability to travel to assigned clinic locations.
• Upon hire, all interpreters are required to complete a Mary Washington Healthcare interpreter certification class before beginning assignments.
