Performs blasting/mechanical cleaning and any chemical pre-cleaning prior to blasting necessary to supply our internal and external customers with high quality, clean surface for their parts.

Job Summary
Performs blasting/mechanical cleaning and any chemical pre-cleaning prior to blasting necessary to supply our internal and external customers with high quality, clean surface for their parts.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Reads process sheets to determine customer specifications
- Operates blaster using appropriate material and blasting portion of parts as outlined by the customer
- Moves parts to and from blasting area
- Checks and maintains all guns, air hoses, gauges, nozzles, part carts, glass, and turntables for wear and damage daily
- Maintains a clean work area
- Fills out process sheets for each job
- Stars up and shuts down all blast area equipment according to procedure
- Responsible for quality of work in blast area to ensure customer specifications are met
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Moves 10-50 lbs. across work area on a repetitive basis
- Remain in a stationary position on a continual basis for duration of shift
- Works overtime as required
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions, read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to apply reasoning and understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training.
