Who We Are
Imagine Swimming is NYC's premier learn-to-swim school, and we’re expanding to Montauk in the Summer of 2025! Since 2002, we’ve shared our love of the water with swimmers of all ages, from infants to adults. Founded by Olympian Casey Barrett and German National Team member Lars Merseburg, Imagine Swimming brings together a diverse and passionate team dedicated to inspiring confidence and joy in the water.
At Imagine, we believe that learning to swim should be fun. Our child-led, creative approach encourages students to develop skills through engaging, play-based lessons. While our teaching methods are highly developed, we value individuality—because it’s the Singer, not the Song that makes each lesson special.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking enthusiastic Swim Instructors, Lifeguards, and Pool Managers to start our team in Montauk! If you love the water, enjoy working with children, and want to make a lasting impact, we’d love to hear from you.
Ideal Candidates Will Have:

A passion for aquatics in a fun and engaging way - Previous experience in a swim school (preferred)
- A background in competitive swimming (a plus)
- The ability to commit to weekday mornings and weekend shifts for August 2025
- A willingness to learn and adapt to Imagine’s teaching methods

Job Details

Job Type: Part-time and Full-time - Expected Hours: Part-time, 40 hours Full-time
- Schedule Options:
- Variable, typically 4 to 8-hour shifts
- Preference may be given to those available on weekday mornings during the Summer, Weekday afternoons in the school year, and weekends during the day year-round.
Location & Availability
- Work Location: Montauk, NY (In-person)
- Willingness to Travel: Candidates may be required to undergo inductive training in NYC
- Peak Hours: Weekday afternoons & weekends (all day)
