Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across all areas of the facility.
- Handle chemical agents safely, following proper procedures for storage, mixing, and disposal to ensure a safe working environment.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and steam cleaners to maintain floors and surfaces in pristine condition.
- Conduct detailed sanitation procedures in restrooms, kitchens, and common areas to meet health standards.
- Assist with light maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, minor repairs, and painting as needed to support facility upkeep.
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all custodial activities, including heavy lifting and manual handling practices to prevent injuries.
- Support facilities maintenance by reporting issues related to plumbing, electrical systems or structural concerns for prompt resolution.
Experience
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, safety procedures for chemical handling, and proper use of cleaning equipment is essential.
- Experience with floor care techniques such as buffing, polishing, and applying protective coatings is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to heavy lifting, manual handling, and general facilities maintenance is required.
- Customer service skills are important for interacting professionally with staff and visitors while maintaining a positive attitude.
